Updating windows movie maker codec
So I recently bought a new laptop that had Windows 8 installed and initally installed Windows Essentials 2012. So I wanted to create a video from images I captured using my USB capture device from my gameplay.
Here in the US we've got lots of older relatives who don't have computers, or perhaps they only have an i Pad and a link to a You Tube video doesn't have the sense of meaning or permanence that a DVD does.
If you are reading this, I'm going to assume you've upgraded or purchased at least one PC with Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 and discovered Windows Movie Maker is no where to be found.
In its place, Microsoft now offers a set of programs called "Windows Essentials".
You could also convert the format to any other one Windows DVD maker supports.
I used Freemake Video Converter - it can convert a bunch of formats to DVD (or DVD ISO as well).
It installs quickly and works perfectly in Windows 8 and, IMHO, is the best version of WMM ever (formerly for Vista only).
